Monthly Rundown: September

Here’s the music rundown recapping the songs/music videos/EP’s released in September by Ghanaian artists or featuring Ghanaian artists.

Earlier in September, I also shared a blog post to shed light on the rising Ghanaian Drill scene. Have a read here.

Mr Drew – Let Me Know

Eno Barony ft Wendy Shay – Enough is Enough

Eno and Wendy dropped a song addressing some of the issues women sadly face, especially in the music industry. As the song says, enough is enough.

J Derobie – Riches

To celebrate his Reggae/Dancehall artist award at the VGMAs, J Derobie dropped this banger!

This Is Not The Tape, Sorry For The Wait II by Kwesi Arthur

Kwesi dropped this amazing 3 track project earlier in September and it’s absolutely sensational. Quality > quantity is clear with this one.

Kwesi Arthur – Live From 233

My favourite track from ‘This Is Not The Tape, Sorry For The Wait II’

Darkovibes – Dead Friends

Amerado Burner – Box of Memories

Million Dollar by Ofori Amponsah

A very beautiful album that gives off the best nostalgic vibes with a modern touch. If you were a fan of some of his Hiplife classics like Otoolege, Broken Heart, Emmanuella etc, I promise you you’ll love this album too!

Kuami Eugene ft Obaapa Christy – Wa Ya Wie

Tulenkey x Quamina Mp x Fameye – Adidas

A banger! I’m still upset that it’s only on Soundcloud and not on any other streaming platforms.

Sarkodie ft Prince Bright – Gimme Way

Stonebwoy – Blaze Dem (freestyle)

Stonebwoy dropped this freestyle for his sound clash with Shatta Wale, which was incredible.

Shatta Wale – Automatically

Shatta dropped this track following the sound clash with Stonebwoy and it’s pretty decent.

Tecknikal – Rain or Shine

Wendy Shay ft Shatta Wale – H.I.T (Haters In Tears)

Greater Than by Fameye

It’s a beautiful mix between Highlife, Hip-Hop and Afrobeats. Loved the reference to a few classics, such as Mzbel’s Awoso Me in Agoro and Daddy Lumba’s Bubra in Choices ft Pappy Kojo!

Kelvyn Boy – Mata

Music Video: Kwesi Arthur – Turn on the Lights

Yaw Tog – Sore ft O`kenneth,City Boy, Reggie, Jay bahd

This song is really helping to put the Ghana drill scene on the map! Santamerica, Miamifuo n

Music video: Yaa Pono – 1997

Medikal ft Criss Waddle and Joey B – La Hustle

Hustlers anthem right here! La Hustle ohhhh
