Monthly Rundown: February

Here’s a recap of some of the songs/music videos/EP’s released in February by Ghanaian artists or featuring Ghanaian artists.

STONEBWOY – 1GAD

Stonebwoy’s first single of the year, and it’s a banger!

Music video: Keche ft Fameye – Good Mood

A great song with great visuals too! I feel like we don’t give enough credit to Keche for staying relevant over the years.

Music Video: Dayonthetrack – Blow my mind

Blow My Mind is a masterpiece by Dayonthetrack (Kwesi Arthur’s younger brother). It deserves a place in everyone’s playlist.

Amerado – Indelible Flow

Amerado is easily one of the sickest rappers in Ghana currently.

Kidi – Spiritual ft Kuami eugene & Patoranking

Super Mario is a track from an EP called Patience by Mike Akox (a Ghanaian Australian).

Ebony x Wendy Shay – John 8:7

It’s so beautiful to hear Ebony on a track again.

Kwame Yogot ft Kuami Eugene
Music video: Kelvyn Boy x Crayon – Tele
Vibes for Days by Kwamz & Flava

Loved how this EP essentially fused the UK sound with the Ghana sound.

My favourite tracks are I’m the Guy, Understand and Beat ft Darkovibes

RED WINE CONVERSATIONS BY JAY CLIFF

I had the opportunity of listening to this EP before its release and I couldn’t wait for everyone else to hear it too. It’s a solid piece of work by Jay Cliff .

So far, my favourite tracks are Island Girl with Moor Sound and Chargie.

Kofi Jamar – They Don’t Know
Gold Up, J Derobie – Day & Night
Deadpeepol x BigC – No Noise ft Bosom Pyung, Wendy Shay, Kofi Pages, Malcolm Nuna & Kweku

sekbi legacy by asi

Like I said on my IG post, it’s time for everyone to stop sleeping on Asi!

Sekbi Legacy is a fashion brand and Asi has described the EP as a “merger between fashion and music”, where “each song is connected to the patterns of the clothes”. This is something that I haven’t seen being done before in the Ghanaian music scene, so I’m super impressed 👏🏾.

Like her previous EP, Chapter V, this is another solid EP by Asi with a great replay value. My favourite songs so far are Change and Ride.
